Preparation Alkaline Phosphatase Stabilizer
This guide describes the preparation of Alkaline Phosphatase Stabilizer at a defined molarity for laboratory use.
Alkaline Phosphatase Stabilizer is used to maintain enzyme activity during storage and handling.
Alkaline Phosphatase Stabilizer – Composition
| Name | Formula | Concentration | CAS |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tris-Cl (pH 9.5) | C₄H₁₁NO₃ | 100 mM | 77-86-1 |
| Magnesium chloride | MgCl₂ | 5 mM | 7791-18-6 |
| Sodium chloride | NaCl | 100 mM | 7647-14-5 |
| Tween-20 | C₅₈H₁₁₄O₂₆ | 0.1% (v/v) | 9005-64-5 |
Sterilization & Storage
- Sterilization: 0.22 μm filtration or autoclave.
- Storage: Room temperature or 4 °C.
Tips
- Tween-20 concentration range is 0.1–1% (v/v). Higher concentrations help reduce precipitate formation.
- If prepared using sterile stock solutions and water, no further sterilization is required.
- When preparing directly from anhydrous magnesium chloride, be aware of the exothermic reaction; add in small portions to partial solvent volume.
- Using sterile stock solutions and ultrapure water eliminates the need for additional sterilization.
