Preparation Co-IP Lysis Buffer

This guide describes the preparation of Co-IP Lysis Buffer at a defined molarity for laboratory use.

Co‑IP Lysis Buffer is used for immunoprecipitation experiments to gently lyse cells while preserving protein–protein interactions.

Co‑IP Lysis Buffer – Composition

NameFormulaConcentrationCAS
Tris‑Cl (pH 7.4)C₄H₁₁NO₃25 mM77‑86‑1

GlycerinC₃H₈O₃5% (v/v)56‑81‑5

Sterilization & Storage

  • Sterilization: Usually not required; filtering (0.22 μm) is optional if removing particulates or microbes is desired.
  • Storage: 4 °C (refrigerated; avoid long‑term storage at room temperature).

Tips

  • Don’t mix concentrated stock solutions together that can cause the precipitation of salts; add buffer components to sufficient water first and then mix.
